Treatments vary depending on the type of arthritis.

The main goals of arthritis treatments are to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.

Treatment of arthritis generally includes rest, occupational or physical therapy, exercise, biologics, DMARDs, advanced therapies, medications, and sometimes surgery to correct joint damage.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment

there is no complete cure for Rheumatoid Arthritis RA. Main focus in on reducing inflammation, preventing further or permanent damage, reducing daily and long term effects. Treatments include

  • maintain health lifestyle including diet
  • quit smoking
  • exercise
  • physical and occupational therapy
  • medications such as Pain medications, steroids, and NSAIDs. DMARDs (Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs), such as hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate, may be used to try to slow the progression of disease

Other therapies involve anti-inflammatory agents, alternative medicine, lifestyle changes, and surgery to remove affected joints.
